What was the most challenging aspect of this unit? Explain.
Getting the motivation to do the work. The unit wasnt in small steps so its hard to start and get stuff done.
What worked well for you in the research project? What helped you learn?
the blog posts helped a lot to show what ive done and how far i was. THe interenet helped of course.
What didn't work well for you in this research project? What would have made the project better?
Having the project in smaller steps would help a lot. Its hard to tackle a problem when it seems so large and sn much work.
Critique the overall human for in art research project. Should this project be taught in ninth grade Humanities English? Why or why not?\

It can if you want it to be. It isnt too difficult but many kids take advantage of the fact its so interperative.

What does it mean to be human?
Standing up for what you believe is right. Believing in certian beliefs and ideas. Diego Believed in communism and when they decomissioned his mural he remade it.

Does your piece say anything about distinctions among humans based on class, race, gender religion, etc.?

Different culture, religion and beliefs can cause conflict. This is portrayed in the mural of the two different sides. One side believes in communism and the other is against it.

The time limit definitely should be changed from 5-7 minutes. So far in my project i have a rough draft of the written description done. I need to start more on my analysis and get started on my power point. Alos i need to cite my sources better. I also need to find two similiar pieces.

About Diego Rivera and his mural ( blog #4)

Diego was born December 8, 1886 in Guanajuato Mexico. He had many wives but was married to Frida Kahlo twice.

In diego's first mural, it was decomissioned because it portrayed Lenin having an alliance with a Russian and American. This was politically unacceptable at the time and was the reason the work wasn't created. Lenin was the first leader of the soviet union.

I am still having trouble with all the thoughts and ideas behind thie piece of art. I want to get more information on leon Trosky and Lenin. I also want to learn about more of the people.

I have already chosen my art piece Man at the Crossroads. It is by Diego Rivera. I learned more about when and how the piece was created. I really want to get more information about Diego himslef. I also want to learn more of why the piece was created and what it's about. On friday I will be looking at his biography and also what the piece is about.

first research day

Today i used surfwax and polycola for my surf engines. I figured out the actual mural I'm doing is Man Controller of the universe. Originally it was called man at the crossroads but after he refused to remove vladmir lenin from the mural his work was cancelled. In 1934 Digeo made a smaller reproduction and renamed it.
